When Asia first joined us in July, the first day home she started fetching a small fuzzy ball a few feet. Cute, adorable, and I had assumed this talent would probably fade as she got older.
Fast forward five months, and while she does not fetch all toys, she has a few in particular that create a Labrador like intensity from her (in this case it is a black cable tie from the office drawer she found).
Should one of those favorite toys go missing, say in between a couch cushion, the moment she finds it you would have thought it was Christmas morning.
As soon as she has dug it out of its awful terrible hiding place, she will come crashing in my direction with the intense “throw it, throw it, throw it” look. How can I resist?
The only downside to this behavior of course, is the growing collection of items in the nightstand. (That would be another one of those awful terrible hiding places).
Luckily her intensity fades pretty quick at bedtime. A full day of play, wrestling, and fetching does have the benefit of creating a sleepy set of bengals.
She does look like a squirrel on occasion.
Sometimes I just want to grab her and squeeze her and hug all her cuteness…….but she tends not to appreciate that…..she is busy!

This pose looks familiar……

After 40 throws and twice as many photos, someone is getting worn out.
Wishing her dreams of neverending cable ties.
