“Hey Mia!”
“It’s your First Birthday!!!”
Happy Birthday My Little Troublemaker!
Let’s look how much you have changed in a short 8 months (although in some ways you haven’t):
(The photo on the top/left is 4 months old, on the right/bottom is 1 yr. You can click on each photo for a larger view)
Talk about some ears, you did grow into them though!

Your still a goofball and have pretty much the same favorite toys.

…and boy do you like to zoom around. I love in the mornings when its time to get up how you bounce down the hall ahead of me, down the stairs, skipping the same steps every time in your exuberance.
Ahhh, so sad how quickly you have grown up though.
I have video of your arrival and the first 12 hours. I am so glad I recorded those moments (and we were quickly introduced to your patented frog leg move!).

Exploring the house after a few days getting settled in:

It took a couple weeks, but you and Bayou became good cuddle and wrestle buddies.
…and you continued to be just plain silly

Unfortunately you quickly learned the art of picking on Bayou (which you still do a lot, Miss Ornery!)

….and you grew and grew!
We all laughed over and over when you came up with a new game, dragging a leash around the house full speed. Although now we know to be careful as you are liable to run off with anything that has a cord attached (including mom’s camera!!)

You suffered through the first dress up holiday with no complaints (seeing as there was food involved)
You enjoyed your first snow, not intimidated at all
and you just kept growing!
You were such a help come the holidays, although I did insist on another dress up session (sorry!)
You are all ‘growed’ up now!!
…but we still know the truth, you will always be my little goofball froggie
Happy First Birthday Mia May!

Happy Birthday Mia! You have such an innocent look that no one would believe your mommy when she says what a handful you are except she has photographic evidence!
Happy birthday, Mia! You’ve not only grown into your ears, but into your back legs, too. And I LOVE the before and after photos of her with her favorite toys — how did you ever manage to catch such exact duplicates? Mia has certainly grown up to be a beautiful girl.
Lots and lots and lots of photos
Happy Birthday Mia! Mommy melted all over again at your tiny kitten screams. You sure are a beauty, and we wonder–do you ever run down?

Love from Eve and her mommy
Thank you for this beautifully conceived post! What a treat to watch her arriving, getting used to the new digs, feeling at home, then taking over the place. Mia is a magnificent girl and everything she does is photogenic. She’s so vocal and alive. I wish her many, many more years of life and love. Thanks again, and kiss Bayou for his tolerance.
I love how you had the before and current photos to compare little Mia’s growth! And what a beautiful tribute to a precious member of your family. Happy Birthday Mia!!
Happy Birthday dear Mia.
